What are the responsibilities and job description for the Artist Associate position at Arteriors Decorative Painting Inc.?
Arteriors Decorative Painting Inc. is looking for a multi-talented artist or tradesman to work with us in an exciting trade in the decorative arts. The Artist Associate position includes working on site, applying architectural finishes, Venetian plasters, murals, gilding and more. You will receive training from master craftsmen in decorative paint and plaster finish applications, custom pigmenting and faux finishes. You will earn a salary while training and working with Arteriors’ owners and team members.
This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to enter into a profession that is contracted by architects and interior designers in the residential, commercial and hospitality industry. Let us know what your skills are! Experience in the visual arts, fine art painting, plastering, house painting, digital design and or illustration are all valued. You must have experience working in the trades or in an art business to be considered for this position. Fluency in digital design is a big plus and offers opportunity for additional hours.
Local candidates are more likely to receive additional hours working in studio and helping us pack for jobs. We are based in Natick, most of our work is on location throughout Metro West. Some opportunities for out of state travel do occasionally come up.
This is a highly creative job and requires physical labor and an ability to work on ladders and scaffolding. Mileage is reimbursed on all travel over 10 miles. Hours fluctuate from part time to full time depending on jobs. Flexibility is key. Pay is negotiable, depending on your experience.
