Responsibilities:
- Project Execution: Plan and coordinate equipment and crews from start to finish, ensuring resources are in place and the job is completed safely and on time.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all work complies with safety and installation standards, promoting a culture of safety within the team.
- Crew Leadership: Supervise the natural gas crew in the safe installation and assembly of all aspects of underground utilities and natural gas projects.
- Training and Mentorship: Train and mentor crew members in safety and operational best practices, fostering professional growth and development.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret plans to guide layout, sequencing, and pipe installation.
- Documentation: Complete and maintain all required documentation, including timesheets, reports, and traceability records.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the point of contact for customers, inspectors, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect completed work to ensure conformance to specifications and local codes.
- Manual Labor Assistance: Assist in placing underground pipes, operating power tools, and performing manual labor as needed.
- Material Handling: Load and unload equipment and materials for daily projects.
- Hazard Identification: Identify utilities and potential hazards, implementing measures to ensure crew safety.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and clean construction equipment and company vehicles.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide crew members effectively.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and safety standards.
- Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of gas installation techniques and industry standards.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to challenges.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating clear interactions
- Attention to Detail: Commitment to quality workmanship and meticulous attention to detail.
- Directly supervise a crew of 2-5 employees.
- Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Ensure crew compliance with safety and operational procedures.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid driver's license.
- Experience in gas installation techniques and standards preferred.
- Vocational training in a relevant field is a plus.
- OSHA/OQ certifications.
- Experience leading construction or utility crews.
