Compensation: $85,000 – $100,000 annual salary | Billable rate: $250 per hour
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Tax Preparer / Tax Accountant with an Enrolled Agent (EA) on behalf of our client. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in individual and business tax preparation, compliance, and advisory services. This role requires proficiency with various tax software platforms, a deep understanding of federal and state tax laws, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Research and interpret tax laws, regulations, and rulings to provide accurate tax planning and advisory services.
- Assist clients with IRS and state tax notices, audits, and resolution strategies.
- Advise on tax strategies, deductions, and credits to maximize client savings.
- Utilize multiple tax software platforms for tax preparation and workflow efficiency.
- Maintain and update client records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Stay current on changing tax laws, industry trends, and best practices.
- Provide excellent client service by addressing tax-related inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Enrolled Agent (EA) certification required.
- 5 years of experience in tax preparation and tax advisory services.
- Strong proficiency with tax software platforms (e.g., Lacerte, UltraTax, ProSeries, Drake, CCH Axcess, or similar).
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and client service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple client engagements.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in public accounting, tax consulting, or a financial advisory firm.
- Knowledge of business entity structures and tax planning strategies.
- Experience working with high-net-worth individuals and business owners.
