What are the responsibilities and job description for the Templater/ Measuring Tech position at Artelye Marble & Granite?
Artelye Marble and Granite is hiring a full-time Countertop Templator to join our team in Beltsville, MD. Templators are sponsible for measuring, templating, and creating drawings for installation of countertops. The ideal candidate will be an energetic, highly motivated individual with excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to be proactive towards unseen situations. Background in countertop installation or templating is required.
Experience with digital templating systems such as Proliner, LT-55, or similar measuring technologies is a strong plus.
We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Field Templator / Measure Technician to visit customer job sites, take accurate measurements, create countertop templates, and communicate jobsite conditions clearly to our production and operations teams.
Responsibilities
- Travel to residential and commercial job sites to measure countertops and create accurate templates.
- Verify cabinets, walls, sinks, appliances, overhangs, seams, and other job requirements.
- Identify jobsite issues or required modifications before production.
- Communicate clearly with customers, contractors, sales, and operations teams.
- Complete work orders, photos, measurements, and job notes accurately and on time.
- Create or assist with digital countertop drawings and templates.
- Follow company safety, quality, and field procedures.
- Maintain assigned company vehicle and equipment.
Qualifications
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
- Comfortable working with fractions and basic construction math.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Comfortable working independently and traveling to multiple job sites.
- Basic computer and tablet skills.
- Countertop templating, cabinet installation, construction measurement, or similar field experience is preferred.
