Job Role: Tool Designer III - Machining, Sheet Metal, and Tool Design
Location: Waterloo, IA (Onsite)
Duration: 24 Months
Payrate:$45/hr on W2
Responsibilities:
- Designs and develops tooling (fixtures, gauges, machines, etc.) to support manufacturing.
- Works on new product introduction (NPI) and improves existing manufacturing processes.
- Applies Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) for precise design specifications.
- Evaluates designs using technical expertise and past experience.
- Handles mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Supports Lean Manufacturing by introducing new technologies.
- Leads design reviews and provides technical leadership.
- Mentors junior engineers and designers.
- Manages both in-house tooling design and external supplier tooling development.
