Compensation: $40,000 per year (including performance bonus expected $10,000 )

Are you ready to join a creative, fast-paced organization at the forefront of immersive storytelling and community engagement? Art & Water Cultural Group is seeking a Development Officer to help drive financial growth and expand our reach across multiple cities.

Art & Water operates in Toronto, Ottawa, Hamilton, and Barrie, offering unique experiences that ignite imagination and bring people together. In addition to its celebrated pirate adventure experience, Art & Water also offers its 'Escape the Ship' escape room, palapa boat rentals, private charter opportunities, and events, providing a diverse range of immersive and engaging activities for all audiences.

We are at an exciting juncture, with rapid financial growth on the horizon. As a member of our team, you will embrace our "all hands on deck" philosophy, working collaboratively across departments to ensure Art & Water continues to thrive and grow.

Core Responsibilities

  • Sponsorship and Partnerships
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with local businesses, government bodies, cultural organizations, and community groups (e.g., Rotary, Lion’s Club, Kiwanis).
  • Identify and secure sponsorship opportunities that align with Art & Water’s mission and values.
  • Grant Writing and Fundraising
  • Drawing from our grant list, expand and enhance our grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and private donors.
  • Write compelling grant proposals and lead the implementation of innovative fundraising campaigns to secure financial support. Support and write final reports for grants received.
  • Sales / Sponsorship / Donation / Fundraising Calls
  • Support sales operations by leading sales calls & initiatives for sponsorship, donations & fundraising from our past patrons list.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to optimize outreach efforts to businesses, camps, festivals, birthday parties, and community partners.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in fundraising, sponsorship, grant writing, or community engagement.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to identify and act on opportunities for growth.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a virtual environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with the arts, cultural organizations, or community-focused programming is an asset.
