What are the responsibilities and job description for the Auto Upholstery Apprentice position at Art's Trim Shop?
Join our specialized trim shop and learn a "dying art" from the ground up. We are looking for a motivated individual for a full-time automotive upholstery apprenticeship. This is a career-track position designed for someone who wants to move from an entry-level helper to a master trimmer. No prior automotive or upholstery experience is required.
What You’ll be Doing:
- Phase 1: Learn shop flow, teardown, foam prep, and material removal.
- Phase 2: Master patterning, foam shaping, and industrial sewing machines.
- Phase 3: Full interior restoration, custom stitching, and final installation.
Requirements:
- Mechanical Aptitude: Interest in taking things apart and putting them back together.
- Detail Oriented
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work on your feet and handle manual shop tasks.
- Curiosity: A genuine interest in cars, restoration, or craftsmanship.
