You'll complete our standard programming challenge and may interview with both Art Logic and the client's team.🧠 About the WorkAs a Senior Interoperability Engineer, you'll help define and execute the client's data interoperability strategy. You'll build, maintain, and optimize secure, scalable integrations with a wide range of healthcare entities — including health systems, labs, and research organizations.The ideal candidate is an innovative, architecturally-minded engineer with deep experience in healthcare data standards and a proven track record of contributing to complex integration projects.🧩 About YouYou're curious, adaptive, and enjoy tackling new technical challenges.You communicate clearly and proactively, both with internal teams and external partners.You're comfortable working independently but thrive in a collaborative team environment.You hold yourself accountable and care deeply about the quality of your work.You have a strong background in healthcare interoperability and a passion for improving the way health data is exchanged and understood.🧱 Key ResponsibilitiesStrategy and LeadershipContribute to and help execute the overall interoperability strategy, aligning it with the client's product roadmap and business goals.Serve as a subject-matter expert on healthcare data exchange standards (HL7, FHIR, API-based integrations).Mentor and collaborate with a high-performing team of integration engineers and specialists.Integration and DevelopmentDesign, develop, and maintain secure data integration projects enabling seamless exchange between the platform and external partners.Implement scalable, automated data ingestion pipelines from diverse sources (EHRs, labs, HIEs).Collaborate with Product and Engineering to integrate data mapping and normalization capabilities into the platform.Stakeholder and Partner ManagementManage vendor relationships and evaluate potential partnerships to enhance interoperability capabilities.Work with internal and external stakeholders to define integration requirements and ensure successful, on-time delivery.Contribute to contract and SLA negotiations for interoperability projects.Compliance and QualityEnsure all data exchange processes meet stringent privacy and security standards (HIPAA and other regulations).Establish and monitor KPIs for interoperability performance and data quality.Develop and maintain comprehensive technical and business process documentation.🧾 QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, or related field (Master's a plus)10 years of experience in healthcare IT, with 5 years focused on data integration and interoperabilityDeep expertise in healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7, Consolidated CDA/C-CDA)Significant experience with TypeScript, Node.js, Docker, Linux, and AWS SAMExperience with Go, Python, or InterSystems ObjectScript a plusFamiliarity with current AI tools and processesStrong background in database design, API management, and integration platformsExcellent communication skills and experience managing complex partner relationshipsStrong understanding of healthcare privacy and security regulations (HIPAA)Startup or fast-paced technology environment experience preferred🌍 Remote-First and Human-FirstWe've been a fully remote company since day one—more than 30 years ago.We trust you to manage your own time and schedule your deep work.We also value work/life balance—our planning and expectations are realistic, and we never expect more than 40 hours a week.💼 DetailsEngagement Type: Long-term contract through Art LogicHours: Full-time (approximately 40 hours/week)Location: Fully remote, with working-hour overlap with U.S. time zonesCompensation: $45-$55/hr🏗️ About Art LogicArt Logic is a North-American software development firm specializing in challenging, custom projects.
