Position overview:
The Quality Control Associate supports Art.com’s global network of third-party print and framing partners by ensuring that all products meet our standards for craftsmanship, consistency, and customer satisfaction. This role is responsible for executing inspection protocols, monitoring partner performance, documenting defects, and assisting in continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Control Associate works closely with the Director of Third-Party Manufacturing to uphold quality expectations across all partner sites.
What You'll Do:
Quality Assurance & Inspection
- Perform detailed inspections of framed art prints, canvases, and custom wall décor according to established quality standards.
- Document defects, trends, and deviations using standardized reporting tools.
- Verify packaging quality, labeling accuracy, and shipping readiness.
- Support root-cause analysis for recurring quality issues.
Partner Support & Performance Monitoring
- Communicate quality findings to partner production teams in a clear, constructive manner.
- Assist in monitoring partner performance against SLAs related to quality, accuracy, and turnaround time.
- Participate in virtual or onsite audits of partner facilities as needed.
- Help maintain quality dashboards and reporting for internal stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement
- Recommend improvements to inspection processes, tools, and documentation.
- Collaborate with partners to implement corrective actions and track their effectiveness.
- Support initiatives to enhance print quality, framing craftsmanship, and packaging reliability.
Operational Coordination
- Work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Product, Customer Service, and Technology teams to resolve order-related quality issues.
- Assist in testing new materials, equipment, or production methods introduced by partners.
- Maintain organized records of inspections, defects, and partner communications.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Familiarity with quality control processes, inspection methods, and defect tracking.
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently while supporting multiple partners and internal teams.
- Comfortable in a fast‑paced, high‑growth ecommerce environment.
- Ability to travel often for onsite audits or partner visits.
Education/Experience:
- 4–6 years of experience in quality control, manufacturing, print production, or related operations roles.
- Experience with visual inspection, QC documentation, or lean/continuous improvement principles is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch and reach overhead.
- Ability to lift and move product weight up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to use hands to handle and inspect product.
- Ability to visually inspect products for quality.
