Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Gym Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our members. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring all areas of the gym are hygienic and well-maintained, supporting the overall health and safety standards of our facility. Prior experience in janitorial or custodial services is preferred, with a focus on commercial cleaning and floor care. Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning of gym equipment, locker rooms, restrooms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning supplies and techniques.
- Maintain cleanliness of floors through sweeping, mopping, buffing, and other floor care procedures.
- Disinfect high-touch surfaces regularly to prevent the spread of germs.
- Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap dispensers, and cleaning products as needed.
- Ensure trash receptacles are emptied and areas are kept tidy throughout the shift.
- Conduct periodic deep cleaning tasks including window washing and detailed sanitation of equipment and surfaces.
- Follow safety protocols during all cleaning activities to ensure a safe environment for staff and members.
- Report any maintenance issues or damages to management promptly.
Experience
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred, especially in commercial or industrial settings.
- Familiarity with floor care techniques such as buffing and stripping is advantageous.
- Experience with facilities maintenance or porter duties is a plus.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment operation, and safety procedures is desirable.
- Prior experience in residential painting or industrial cleaning can be beneficial but is not required. This role is vital in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness expected in our gym facility, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all members and staff.
