Job Summary
The Activity Assistant supports the planning and implementation of engaging activities and programs that enhance the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive well-being of residents. This role assists with daily activities, encourages resident participation, and helps create a positive and inclusive environment. The Activity Assistant works closely with the Life Enrichment Coordinator to ensure programs reflect resident interests and promote overall quality of life.
Duties
1. Assist the Life Enrichment Coordinator in planning and implementing programs.
2. Lead group and individual activities as assigned.
3. Implement activities based on resident service plans and preferences.
4. Document resident participation and response to activities.
5. Maintain activity calendars.
6. Assist with outings to ensure resident safety.
7. Communicate changes in resident condition to appropriate staff.
8. Ensure resident rights, dignity, and choice are maintained.
9. Follow infection control and safety procedures.
10. Report suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
11. Provide dementia-appropriate programming.
12. Attend and complete in-services and training as assigned.
13. Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
14. Must be available for a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Requirements
1. Ability to read, write, speak, and follow directions in English.
2. Possesses patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude toward the elderly.
3. Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, bending, lifting, and moving.
4. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
5. Ability to work under pressure with frequent interruptions.
6. Valid Arizona driver’s license.
7. Must have a valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.
8. Must not be listed on the Adult Protective Services registry or OIG list.
9. Must meet all drug screening requirements as a condition of employment.
10. Must obtain and maintain Memory Care certification/training..
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
