Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Logistics Manager to oversee and optimize our supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing inventory, coordinating warehouse distribution, and ensuring efficient transportation planning. This role requires a strong understanding of logistics systems, process improvement, and data analysis to support operational excellence across all supply chain activities. The Logistics Manager will lead a team to streamline processes, improve inventory control, and enhance overall supply chain performance in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive supply chain strategies to optimize logistics operations.
- Oversee inventory management, including stock levels, warehouse distribution, and order fulfillment processes.
- Manage transportation logistics, including freight, shipping & receiving, dispatching, and fleet management.
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and ERP platforms such as AS400 to monitor and improve operational efficiency.
- Coordinate procurement, sourcing, and category management activities to ensure cost-effective purchasing and materials handling.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain workflows, reduce costs, and increase service levels.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PL) and NVOCC partners for freight forwarding and shipping solutions.
- Conduct demand planning and supply chain analytics to forecast needs and optimize inventory levels.
- Oversee packaging, materials management, order picking & packing, and shipping & receiving operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain accurate documentation for all logistics activities.
- Analyze data to identify trends, improve pricing strategies, and support decision-making processes related to logistics operations.
Experience
- Proven experience in supply chain management or logistics roles with a strong background in warehouse management, transportation planning, and operations management.
- Extensive knowledge of inventory control systems, warehouse distribution processes, and freight management.
- Hands-on experience with transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms such as AS400 or similar systems.
- Familiarity with procurement processes, category management, sourcing strategies, and demand planning.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets using tools like supply chain analytics software.
- Experience managing third-party logistics providers (3PL), freight forwarding (NVOCC), and fleet operations is preferred.
- Ability to lead process improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma is a plus.
