Job Title: Programs Coordinator
Home Office: Union County Office (UCO).
Area of Focus: Behavioral Health
Program(s): Behavioral Health - Outpatient Mental Health Programming helps individuals build life skills and well-being through behavioral health counseling, psychiatric care, and other care coordination and support services. Intensive Placement Stabilization (IPS) - IPS helps young people involved with the DCFS system (Department of Child and Family Services) build stability and reduce the number of foster placements and moves through mental health services. Mental Health Juvenile Justice (121) functions as a point of contact between the Illinois Juvenile Justice System, probation, schools, and the community. The program helps build these collaborative relationships to identify and obtain referrals of youth with or at risk for mental health concerns in Union County.
Hours of Work: Full-time, 40 hours/week. Afterhours on-call rotation required.
FLSA Classification: Non-exempt
Programs Coordinator Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in human services or related field; previous supervisory experience is preferred; must be at least 21 years old and qualify as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP).
Programs Coordinator Skills & Knowledge: Employee must possess active listening, written and oral communication skills. Experience and understanding of crisis intervention, conflict resolution, problem solving, group facilitation, curriculum planning, teaching of basic living skills, counseling theory and practice, diagnosis/assessment of mental illness, case management process, use of area service systems and resources. Possess excellent word processing and computer skills. Employee has experience and good knowledge base of consultation practices, clinical record keeping, recovery support techniques, ability to work with individuals, groups, and families. Strong foundation of principles related to supervision philosophy, techniques and practices. Possess knowledge of Medicaid Administrative Rule 140, understanding of core services and program models, and CARF standards.
Programs Coordinator job duties include, but are not limited to:
Intervenes and evaluates clients, establishes diagnosis as needed, and assists in development of individual treatment plans collaboratively with clients and QMHPs, defining goals, outcomes, and timeframes while monitoring client progress.
Conducts crisis intervention to stabilize clients through short-term techniques and/or referral to additional services.
Provides therapeutic interventions aimed at improving individual and family functioning.
Ensures timely updates regarding client engagement and program participation are communicated to program leadership.
Maintains networking and referral contacts internally and externally while assessing barriers to engagement, treatment, and discharge planning.
Screens, assesses, and provides interventions for consumers exhibiting trauma-related symptoms.
Follows agency policy and procedures for all reports or suspicions of abuse and neglect.
Conducts client check-in calls during clinician or Case Manager transitions or as needed to ensure continuity of care and engagement.
Maintains and updates community resource information to support referrals and service coordination.
Supervises Case Managers, and therapist/counselors and oversee all related operational functions.
Monitors service productivity and billing requirements among staff and participates in disciplinary processes when necessary.
Provides regular individual and/or group supervision to direct reports and fosters a collaborative, team-based work environment aligned with agency mission and vision.
Oversee Behavioral Health Outpatient operational tracking tools and spreadsheets, including monitoring expiring IM CANS assessments and coordinating scheduling with the Assistant Director and Intake staff to ensure timely completion.
Facilitates Coping Skills Training and other assigned program trainings as needed to support program and client needs.
