Job Responsibilities: Manages daily transit operations within their geographical area.

Job Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or commensurate education and experience. CDL with passenger endorsements. (We train and test for Class B CDL for free!) Minimum 4 years supervisory experience. Ability to regularly travel within large geographical area. Computer literate.

Needed Attributes: Self-starter with organizational and management skills. Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to work with the elderly, disabled, and economically disadvantaged.

• Essential Functions: Recruits, selects, supervises and evaluates employees including disciplinary procedures
• Negotiates revenue contracts
• Monitors and manages county expense budgets including business evaluations
• Trains new drivers in operating procedures
• Meets with businesses and community leaders to develop new routes
• Schedules drivers and vehicles
• Develops, maintains, and reviews route manifests
• Completes federal and state reports
• Performs grant writing
• Organizes, schedules, and moderates city/county advisory committees
• Promotes services through public relations/marketing and assists with the community needs assessment
• Performs dispatch and driver duties
• Monitors program for federal and state rules/regulation compliance

Additional Information: Transportation Manager I needed in Hermantown, MN to oversee Carlton, Hermantown, Lake, and Cook Counties. M-F. 40 hrs/wk. 7:00am-3:30pm Starting wage: $30.89/hr.
