Arrowhead Talent Solutions is assisting a mid-sized manufacturer in Canton OH on a search for their next Division Controller. This is manager-level role with an opportunity for future advancement and to make a real impact on HR operations. The position reports to the Director of Human Resources.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Division Manager is responsible for overseeing all human resources functions for our Canton OH division. The position also plays a key leadership role across the division by guiding initiatives related to employee development, organizational effectiveness, wellness, and workplace safety.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITES
- Human Resources Oversight | Ensure HR support is visible, accessible, and consistently delivered. Work closely with leadership teams to strengthen workforce planning, improve employee engagement, and maintain positive working relationships. Oversee hiring efforts for all employee levels, ensuring a structured and high-quality recruitment approach. Provide support during employee relations matters, including workplace investigations.
- Learning and Development Leadership | Guide the development and execution of training programs throughout the division. Identify skill gaps, support leadership growth, and ensure safety training requirements are met. Align all initiatives with broader organizational standards while maintaining consistency across locations. Measure success using key performance indicators and continuously improve program effectiveness.
- Organizational Effectiveness | Support long-term planning efforts such as succession planning, performance management, and employee development. Ensure performance evaluations are completed on schedule and contribute to meaningful employee growth. Encourage alignment between individual contributions and division goals. Participate in initiatives focused on workforce structure, retention, and organizational design, while tracking outcomes through measurable data.
- Strategic HR Initiatives | Contribute to the development of HR systems, policies, and departmental objectives. Serve as the primary contact for HR data and metrics, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting across locations.
- HR Team Support and Collaboration | Act as a central resource for HR professionals across the division. Share expertise, assist in developing HR capabilities, and provide guidance on compensation-related activities such as merit increases and wage planning.
- Manufacturing Site Support (Matrix Role) | Provide guidance and oversight to assigned manufacturing facilities. Partner with site HR leaders to address operational needs, ensure progress on key priorities, and offer direction where policies may not be clearly defined. Collaborate with senior HR leadership and legal advisors when addressing complex employee matters.
- Employee Wellness Programs | Oversee and coordinate wellness initiatives that promote employee health and engagement, including leadership of the division’s wellness committee.
EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field required
- Advanced degree preferred SHRM or similar certification is an advantage
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Well-rounded knowledge of core HR disciplines
- Approximately 4–6 years of HR experience, ideally including both operational (plant) and corporate environments
- Strong leadership and organizational capabilities
- Effective communication and coaching skills
- Proficiency with HR systems and technology
- Engagement in professional HR organizations or community involvement is beneficial
