What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Golf Professional position at Arrowhead Golf Club?
Key Roles:
1. LMA – (Lead, Manage, and hold staff Accountable)
a. Assist the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional as directed for daily operations of the Golf Shop
b. Oversee Range Crew and Golf Shop staff and assist with training or implementing new SOP’s
2. Assisting with Golf Shop Operation
a. Operation of Club Caddie (POS) System
b. Maintain a clean and friendly work environment
c. Merchandise Sales and Membership sales
d. Answering Golf Shop phone calls and assist callers as needed
e. Working full time (36-40 hours per week) in the Golf Shop (Opening Shifts 6:00am-2:00pm. Closing shifts 1:00pm-9:00pm during the summer and 12:00pm-7:30pm during the winter)
3. Assisting with Membership Operation/Relations
a. Providing excellent customer service
b. Always operating within a 24-hour response time to all emails in a professional and reassuring manner
c. Assisting membership with all their golf or athletic related needs
d. Assisting with tournaments and events to ensure smooth operation as directed
4. Inventory Management
a. Enter invoices, sticker products, and work with Branding to display merchandise.
b. Manage special orders and custom merchandise orders for members.
c. Conduct regular inventory counts and work with the Accounting Team for accuracy.
5. Assisting with Tournament Operations
a. Assisting the Tournament Director with Golf Genius and execution of golf tournaments
b. Assisting in administrative work as directed for tournaments, scoring, payouts, etc.
Time off:
Requests for time off are subject to the needs of the Golf Shop schedule, Memberships calendar, and the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional’s approval.
Sick Pay:
The accrual of Sick Pay happens immediately upon the start of employment. After every thirty hours worked, one Sick Pay hour will be granted. As a salaried employee, you will accrue one and a third hours of Sick Pay each week worked. Sick Pay will accrue up to eighty hours, then cap. Sick Pay cannot be cashed out at the end of the year and is seen as a use it or lose it.
Vacation Pay:
The accrual of Vacation Pay happens after one full year with the company. As a salaried employee, you will receive one full week of Vacation Pay after one full year of continuous employment and will renew at the employee’s annual start date. After three years of continuous employment, you will receive two weeks of Vacation Pay. After five years of continuous employment, you will receive three weeks of Vacation Pay. After ten years of continuous employment, you will receive four weeks of Vacation Pay.
Pay Structure:
Salary Rate: starting $50,000 per year depending on experience and PGA status
