Job Summary
Our Client is hiring an experienced Telecom Designer for a 6–12 month hourly contract-to-hire role. You'll handle end-to-end telecom design for company-wide projects, from initial assessments to construction oversight, ensuring everything aligns with Client's standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects independently or guide support staff, providing cross-team assistance.
- Create detailed drawing packages: site/floor plans, comm room layouts, rack elevations, backbone schematics, and infrastructure details.
- Handle Division 27 & 28 systems specs, cable pathway fill calculations, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate designs with civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, architectural, and hardware teams.
- Perform field surveys during all project phases and verify code compliance.
- Collaborate in BIM environments using Revit/Navisworks, work with modelers, and support RFIs/submittals.
- Act as a company-wide technical expert in team settings.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent experience).
- RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) certification.
- 3 years as an RCDD.
- Proficient in Revit, evizto, AutoCAD, and BIM tools.
- Strong knowledge of comms system design.
