Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment in an industrial environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in electrical systems, PLC programming, and industrial automation, with the ability to read schematics, diagnose complex issues, and ensure compliance with safety and electrical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic equipment and systems.
- Diagnose electrical and electronic faults and implement effective repairs to minimize downtime.
- Design and develop electrical schematics and assist with system engineering as required.
- Read and interpret maintenance manuals, technical documentation, diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
- Work with PLC systems, including troubleshooting, programming, and system modifications.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards including NEC and OSHA requirements.
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
- Work with equipment operating up to 480V three-phase power systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, maintenance activities, and system modifications.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to improve system reliability and performance.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Completion of an accredited technical school or apprenticeship program preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Two years of technical education in electronics and/or minimum five years of related electrical experience.
- Experience working with industrial electrical systems and equipment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical theory, troubleshooting techniques, and repair methods.
- Experience with PLC technology and programming.
- Ability to engineer, design, and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
- Experience working with 480V three-phase electrical systems.
- Solid understanding of electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and interpret technical documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and electrical drawing software.
- Experience creating or interpreting circuit board and control system drawings.
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with automation systems.
