We are seeking motivated and Traffic Control Flaggers to ensure the safety and smooth flow of traffic around construction zones and work sites.
Drug Screen and Background Check Required.
In this role, you will be responsible for directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic, maintaining safety protocols, and supporting construction crews by creating a secure environment. Your energetic presence and clear communication will help keep everyone safe while construction activities progress efficiently. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be a vital part of dynamic construction projects, contributing to community development and infrastructure improvements.
Responsibilities
- Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic at construction sites using standardized hand signals, signs, and flagging equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and traffic control plans to prevent accidents or disruptions.
- Communicate effectively with construction teams, drivers, pedestrians, and supervisors to coordinate movements and manage traffic flow.
- Monitor work zones continuously for hazards or unsafe conditions, taking prompt action as needed.
- Assist with setting up and removing traffic control devices such as cones, barriers, and signage in accordance with project plans.
- Report any incidents or unsafe behaviors immediately to site supervisors and emergency responders if necessary.
- Support heavy equipment operators by providing clear guidance during operations involving dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, front loader trucks, or utility locating activities.
Requirements
- Pass Oregon Traffic Control Certification Course
- Prior experience working on construction sites or in traffic management roles is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including dozer, loader operation, backhoe operation, grader operation, and dump trucks is a plus.
- Familiarity with construction processes such as paving, utility locating, and general site safety procedures.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey instructions using hand signals or radios.
