We’re seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer with a structural background to join our team and contribute to the design of pre-engineered metal building systems. This opportunity is available in the Columbia, SC, Columbus, GA, and El Paso, IL areas.

In this role, you will work closely with detailing teams, vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.

Interest in structural steel building systems and industrial/commercial construction is preferred.
What You’ll Do
Structural Design – Develop safe and economical building systems that meet project requirements and applicable codes and standards. Every project is unique.
Technical Analysis – Utilize proprietary software for frame, secondary member, bracing, crane, mezzanine, and panel analysis to ensure structural integrity.
Collaborative Approach – Work closely with the Detailing Department and other teams to effectively communicate design requirements and support efficient project execution.
Oversight – Review and verify structural drawings and detailing packages for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.
Continuous Learning – Embrace opportunities to grow and develop as an engineer by collaborating across departments and contributing to innovative engineering solutions.
Qualifications, Skills, & AbilitiesMinimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam prior to hire date
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Educational focus in structural engineering
- Basic understanding of building construction methods
- Knowledge of current building codes and standard industry practices
- Experience with pre-engineered metal building systems
Special Demands
- Occasional travel and on-site visits required
- Ability to access multi-level job sites, including use of construction elevators
- Required use of personal protective equipment (safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hard hats, etc.) while on-site
- Flexible schedule with hours that may occasionally extend beyond standard business hours
