Furnace Operator – 3rd Shift
We have an immediate opening for a strong Furnace Operator on 3rd shift. This role supports heat-treat operations across carburizing, thru hardening, normalizing, die quench, deep freeze, and temper processes. The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, and comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, seasonal temperature changes, and typical industrial conditions, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate integral quench furnaces and high temperature box furnaces in accordance with production schedules and process requirements.
• Program furnace cycles and verify correct settings for each load and process.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to minimize downtime and maintain product quality.
• Load and unload parts safely and efficiently while following handling requirements.
• Complete required production and process documentation accurately and on time.
• Monitor cycle performance, temperatures, and process conditions to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance, and team members regarding priorities and issues.
Qualifications
• Experience operating heat-treat equipment in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of carburizing, through hardening, normalizing, die quench,
deep freeze, and temper processes preferred.
• Ability to program, troubleshoot, and operate furnaces with limited supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
• Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Ability to follow work instructions, safety procedures, and quality requirements.
• Dependable attendance and willingness to work 3rd shift.
• High school diploma or GED preferred
