The Pavement Maintenance Foreman is responsible for leading field crews in delivering high-quality asphalt and concrete maintenance services. The Foreman is responsible for planning daily operations, supervising crews, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction.
This position requires strong leadership, knowledge of roadway construction practices, equipment operation experience, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise pavement maintenance crews on commercial, municipal, and industrial projects
- Plan and coordinate daily work assignments, equipment, and materials
- Perform and oversee services including: Cracksealing, Sealcoating, Pavement markings
- Operate and train employees on specialized pavement maintenance equipment
- Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce company safety policies and OSHA standards
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met
- Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, vendors, and inspectors
- Complete daily reports, job documentation, and timekeeping records
- Manage crew productivity and provide coaching and training to team members
- Troubleshoot field issues and make sound decisions to keep projects on schedule
- Perform routine equipment inspections and coordinate maintenance needs
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in asphalt or pavement maintenance
- Previous experience leading crews as a Foreman or Crew Leader preferred
- Strong knowledge of asphalt maintenance techniques, materials, and equipment
- Ability to read project specifications and work orders
- Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required)
- Ability to operate trucks, trailers, sealcoat equipment, crack sealing machines, striping equipment, skid steers, and other construction equipment
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work overtime and occasional weekends during peak season
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical labor for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to safely climb on and off equipment and work around moving machinery
- Ability to work in dusty, noisy, and uneven terrain environments
Work Environment
This position primarily works outdoors on active construction sites and may be exposed to heavy equipment, traffic, dust, noise, heat, cold, and other environmental conditions common to roadway construction projects.

Pay: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour
