Lead Teacher for multi-age classroom (In-home Preschool)

Come join our warm, Christ-centered in-home preschool community as a Lead Teacher, where your passion, leadership, and dedication will guide children’s academic, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth. In this role, you will oversee the daily operation of the classroom, implement our play-based curriculum, and foster a joyful, organized learning environment for children from walking age through Pre-K.

This position is ideal for an experienced early childhood educator who enjoys leading a small classroom, building strong partnerships with families, and inspiring curiosity through hands-on learning. Please note that there is an assistant in the classroom to help with serving up to 12 children in a single classroom and allowing for exceptional relationships and individualized care.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure the classroom runs smoothly through consistent routines, effective transitions, and proactive supervision.
  • Plan, prepare, and fully implement the approved curriculum to support each child’s growth and development.
  • Provide attentive care for children from walking age through five years old, including assistance with diapering, bottle feeding, handwashing, meals, and rest time as needed.
  • Maintain timely, professional communication with families through the parent communication app, including daily updates and approximately 10–20 meaningful photos of each child documenting meals, naps, transitions, and learning experiences.
  • Lead engaging indoor and outdoor activities, providing two to three hours of outdoor learning and play daily, including water-play days and nature-based exploration.
  • Set up, maintain, and sanitize classroom materials, art projects, toys, and learning environments.
  • Foster positive social interactions and model patience, kindness, and Christ-centered values.
  • Collaborate closely with the Classroom Support Assistant and Director to ensure high-quality care and education.
  • Maintain compliance with all Texas childcare licensing standards and safety procedures.
  • Participate in other duties as assigned by leadership.

Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Minimum of one year of experience teaching young children in a daycare, preschool, or school setting.
  • Comfortable caring for children from walking age through five years old.
  • Strong knowledge of child development and positive guidance practices.
  • Ability to lead a classroom and safely manage groups of children.
  • CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • CDA credential (or higher early childhood credential) required or to be obtained within six months of hire.
  • Alignment with our Christian faith and commitment to modeling Christ-centered behavior.
  • Reliable, punctual, enthusiastic, and collaborative.
