Product Engineering Lead
Summary:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Engineering Product Lead is responsible for assisting with the direct coordination, supervision, and oversight of the daily operational activities of a Product Engineering team. This may include, but not limited to, design of new products, design improvements, reconfiguration of existing products, drawing revisions, ERP maintenance, technical writing, validation testing, customer interactions and issues, and quality planning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Support the Product Engineering team with the primary responsibilities of processing contracts, solving customer needs, problem-solving product-related issues and implementing product improvements.
- Ability to make decisions and help steer customers in the desired company direction
- Be a main point of contact for internal departments needing support, and directing those needs to the applicable engineer.
- Assist with bid/specification reviews and questions.
- Under the direction of the Design Engineering Manager, assign and monitor the work of the Product Design team to identify milestone targets, report the status of assignments, and raise awareness to roadblocks preventing the completion of planned work on time.
- Act as a resource to provide technical support to the production teams, including supplying direct support on the production floor at times.
- Interact with customers to solve problems, propose solutions, and plan projects. Occasional travel may be required within the U.S. and Canada.
- Work proficiently with ERP and BOM activities.
- Ensure work assignments are in alignment with department priorities as well as company goals and strategies.
- Provide input toward the creation and improvement of engineering procedures while supporting quality, continuous improvement, and evolving business needs.
- Ensure training is provided to the Product Design team on engineering procedures, company procedures and policies, industry standards, and safety regulations and, in turn, govern compliance with these policies and procedures.
- Set project timelines and ensure deadlines are met.
- Provide feedback and assistance with the departmental hiring process, planning, assigning, and directing of tasks, performance management, training, and budgets.
- As part of the AROW Global team you will need to understand the AROW Business System policy and objectives and how you affect conformance to them.
Qualifications:
- Two-year technical degree in Product Design Engineering is required; bachelor’s degree in an engineering program is strongly desired.
- Prior experience in engineering, field service, or project management is required.
- Previous supervisory experience is strongly desired.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to make informed decisions based on experience and company direction
- Strong critical thinking and analytical thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team while looking for opportunities for improvement.
- Capacity to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Experience using SolidWorks or similar parametric modeling software.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
