General Description: Arora Engineers, LLC provides design and construction services and other environmental and Industrial Hygiene services for the USPS and other federal and commercial clients.
Overall Responsibility: We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Program Manager to oversee the management of our company's developing environmental and industrial hygiene services practice area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for hiring, developing and implementing programs and initiatives to ensure the efficient and rapid growth of this organization. This role will perform work nationally on a programmatic basis including work on construction/renovations throughout various client facilities and groups in support of the larger design and construction work.
Essential Functions:
- Manage, oversee, and coordinate all facets of the organization in support of other Arora design and construction practice areas where environmental and IH services are required.
- Involvement with the environmental and IH Services support of facility design and construction projects at all stages and jobs of various sizes from small to large dealing with building expansions, renovations and new builds at single and multiple sites across the US
- Plan, organize, and prepare reports to upper management with respect to the status and/or progress of the projects including schedule, budget, deviations and milestones ahead
- Support our project managers both in monitoring the project budget and schedule to meet the owners qualitative standards; monitoring project budget on a weekly to monthly basis and ensuring that the budget accurately reflects the project status/progress
- Support our project managers involving daily activities of the contractor and other groups where IH services and environmental issues are present
- Provide support to receive, review, and negotiate contractor change order proposals to archive a fair and reasonable price in accordance with the general conditions; reviews and addresses any and all schedule impacts in accordance with the project specifications in a timely manner
- Support our project managers in sourcing and securing procurement of nationwide subcontracted resources when necessary for IH services and environmental support tasks.
- Development and implementation of Environmental methodologies, processes, and standards.
- Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to enhance Environmental competencies within the organization.
- Coordinate with SVP, Planning and Design, Practice Leads, and Project Managers to optimize resource utilization across projects.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to the environmental team and staff ensuring their professional development and growth.
- Client Management: Builds relationships with existing and potential clients.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in related science, environmental, industrial hygiene, or equivalent work experience. Master’s degree in environmental sciences, industrial hygiene and business management is preferred
- 25 plus years full time professional experience in managing environmental and IH Services requirements associated with facility design, construction and other client project work
- Experience recruiting and hiring staff and middle management technical team members
- Experience with Leadership in all aspects of environmental compliance and industrial hygiene services relating to building and other projects.
- Experience with United States Postal Service facilities technical group, USPS client buyers, USPS contract vehicles, and USPS building design criteria
- Experience with United States Postal Service emergency response support needs in addition to other agencies such as GSA, DOD, USCG, USACE.
- Experience and proven track record in working collaboratively with other internal groups for the collective good of clients and Arora business objectives.
- Independently performs highly complex professional assignments demanding contributions calling for the application of specialized principles
- Leads in the information of advanced technical concepts in proposal development, preliminary design phases, and presentations to clients
- Coordinates efforts of sizable specialty Teams to include budget control, scheduling, cost control, quality control, and similar activities
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to company code of conduct and related policies and procedures
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by company's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
- This role is subject to a client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy. As such, employee may be subject to random drug/alcohol test period a copy of the client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy will be provided during employee onboarding and is available upon applicant request
