Miller Farms LLC is a seed potato farm rotating with oats, winter rye and multi-speci mixes. Join our team as an Agricultural Worker, where you will play a vital role in the planting, cultivation, harvesting, and shipping of seed potatoes. This position offers an opportunity to utilize your farming expertise and mechanical skills to ensure high-quality seed production. You will be responsible for supporting crop care, equipment operation, storage and field management activities that are essential to successful seed potato farming. Compensation will be based on experience and resume.
Responsibilities
- Perform key rolls in planting, cultivating, harvesting and shipping seed potatoes.
- Safely operate heavy equipment such as tractors, forklifts and bulk trucks.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on farm machinery and equipment using welding, mechanical knowledge, and basic repair skills.
Requirements
- Experience in agricultural practice, particularly related to seed potato production and the importance of disinfecting and disease prevention.
- Strong work ethic, a positive attitude, willingness to lead and set a good example.
- Ensure assigned work is progressing in a timely manner. Jobs are completed skillfully and efficiently.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate and repair farm machinery and power tools.
- Valid forklift certification or experience operating heavy equipment such as tractors and loaders.
- Ability to climb ladders, climb in and out of equipment and perform heavy lifting safely.
- Basic math skills for measurements, record keeping, and equipment adjustments.
- Knowledge of equipment repair techniques including welding is desirable.
- Must be able to pass a drug test.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Pay: $16.00 - $23.00 per hour
