What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housing Technician position at Aroostook County Action Program (ACAP)?
Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Installs insulation and other energy conservation materials, and performs repair work, following appropriate codes and standards; records labor hours on Job Activity Log, per task, to capture labor expense to ensure savings to investment of Energy Conservation Measures are achieved.
2. Assumes responsibility for assigned tools and equipment and ensures that tools and equipment wear and tear and loss are minimized.
3. Operates assigned Agency vehicle, ensures that necessary repairs and maintenance are completed, and completes “Vehicle Log” and “Maintenance Check List” monthly.
4. Performs repairs, maintenance and other building construction work at Agency-owned facilities.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Experience:
· 1-2 years of experience in carpentry and/or weatherization activities
Skills:
· Good communication skills
· Excellent customer service skills
· Use Microsoft Office applications and other computer software as applicable to the position.
Education/Knowledge Requirements: The following education requirements are considered essential:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Knowledge of building construction
· Complete state Weatherization Installers course and successfully pass exam within six months of hire
· Obtain LEAD RRP certification and Building Science Principals (BSP) within 6 months on hire.
Other Requirements:
· Must have a valid driver’s license, an acceptable driving record per the program, have reliable transportation, provide proof of insurance, and must be insurable under agency policy
· Must pass required background checks
