- Bodywork and Preparing surfaces: Inspect bodywork prior to primer/paint. Ability to apply filler, sanding, long blocking, priming, and masking surfaces to prepare them for painting
- Mixing paint: Selecting, color matching, and mixing paint and coating liquids to achieve the desired color and texture
- Applying paint: Using a sprayer to apply paint to the surface
- Inspecting: Checking the quality of the paint job for runs, sags, and unpainted areas
- Applying finish: Applying clear coat finish. Cut and polish vehicle to achieve a professional finished product
- Maintaining equipment: Keeping all body shop equipment in good condition and using it safely and properly
