What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paraprofessional/Instructional Aide - Substitute position at Aromas San Juan Unified School District?
This purpose of this position is to provide support to the instructional program with an assignment in a self-contained classroom comprised of students with physical, emotional, educational, or behavioral needs, or in a general education classroom that includes students with these needs; acting as a learning resource; assisting in supervision, care, and instruction, assisting in implementing plans for instruction; monitoring student behavior; and providing information to appropriate school personnel. The Aromas San Juan Unified School District is located in San Benito County with schools in San Juan Bautista and Aromas. We are 30 minutes north of Monterey and south of Santa Cruz.
ASJUSD is the only unified PK-12 collaborative learning community with a clear scope and sequence in academic and enrichment areas in San Benito County. Our TK-8 schools are multi-age communities, valuing the important developmental stages of children who learn together and from each other. High school diploma or equivalent.
One of the following:
• Complete two years of study (48 semester units) at an institution of higher education; or
• Obtain an associate’s (or higher) degree from an institution of higher education; or
• Pass a District-selected assessment demonstrating knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
Must show proof of current immunizations for Covid, Flu, MMR, Pertussis, TB; Physical Exam prior to employment;
