Animal Care Assistant / Puppy Yoga Assistant

Part-Time Puppy Yoga & Animal Care Assistant
Riverside Berners | Denton, TX & Downward Dog Puppy Yoga at Grandscape in The Colony
$16 per hour | Weekend availability required | Friday grooming additional weekday hours

Spend your weekends helping puppies have a safe, happy puppy-yoga experience, and help care for them during the week. Riverside Berners is looking for a dependable, hands-on team member to transport puppies to Downward Dog Puppy Yoga, keep studio operations running smoothly, and help with grooming and kennel care.

This is an active animal-care role: you will handle puppies, load supplies, clean up accidents, and keep spaces clean and ready for guests. If you enjoy dogs, take pride in a clean environment, and follow through on your commitments, we would love to hear from you.

Schedule

• Weekend availability is required for scheduled Saturday and/or Sunday puppy-yoga shifts. You may not be scheduled every weekend; coverage will depend on the event calendar and staffing. Please tell us which weekend days you can reliably work.
• Friday availability is strongly preferred for bathing and grooming puppies before weekend events.
• Additional weekday hours are available for grooming, animal care, cleaning, and general kennel operations, based on your availability and kennel needs.
• Some early mornings may be needed. Exact shifts and weekly hours will be discussed during the hiring process.

Weekend puppy yoga: transportation & studio operations

• Prepare and safely load puppies, crates, and supplies for transport between Denton and the puppy-yoga studio at Grandscape in The Colony.
• Transport puppies to and from scheduled events, following safe handling and transport procedures.
• Set up puppy areas and supplies before classes, help oversee on-site operations, and keep sessions running smoothly.
• Supervise puppies and support gentle, safe interactions with guests; watch for signs that a puppy needs water, rest, or attention.
• Promptly clean up puppy accidents and sanitize affected areas; keep the studio clean during classes and reset between sessions.
• Help guests and coordinate with the yoga instructor and team, then handle breakdown, cleanup, and loading after events.

Friday & weekday grooming and kennel care

• Bathe, dry, brush, and provide basic nail and coat care to prepare puppies for weekend events and placement with families.
• Clean and sanitize kennels, puppy areas, crates, bowls, bedding, and outdoor dog areas, including waste cleanup and laundry.
• Assist with feeding, fresh water, exercise, socialization, and basic puppy handling and training.
• Monitor appetite, behavior, energy, and general condition, and promptly report concerns.
• Assist with medications, preventative care, vaccinations, and deworming only as directed and under established kennel protocols.

What you bring

• Reliable weekend availability, punctuality, and the ability to follow through on scheduled shifts.
• Patience and confidence handling multiple puppies and large adult dogs.
• Comfort with animal waste, cleaning, bathing, and the physical work that comes with caring for dogs.
• Ability to work independently, follow animal-care instructions, and communicate clearly with the team and guests.
• Ability to perform active duties such as bending, lifting and loading puppies and supplies, walking dogs, and standing for extended periods, indoors and outdoors.
• Ability to safely carry out puppy transportation duties between Denton and The Colony.

Experience helpful; training available

Kennel, dog daycare, bathing, grooming, veterinary, shelter, breeder, or dog-training experience is helpful, but we can train the right dependable person. Professional show-grooming experience is not required.
