MAIN FUNCTION:
Oversees all aspects of the daily operations of Outpatient Services surgical specialty services, including all support staff, facilities, equipment and supply issues. Maintains strong relationships with all surgical specialty offices, facilitated by an effective network of managerial assistants. Formulates policies, assists with ensuring optimal patient experience, promotes standardized practices, drives efficiencies and facilitates integration of the practices. Reports to the Vice President of Operations, Outpatient Services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Helps develop and implement Outpatient Services' mission, vision, values and strategic plan.
- Oversees the daily operations of the organization.
- Maintains optimal support staffing, emphasizing and optimizing recruiting the right numbers, quality and efficient utilization of that staff.
- Oversees orientation, training, ongoing education, and general clerical staff development.
- Ensures the availability of the necessary facilities, equipment and supplies necessary to deliver high quality care.
- Oversees the practice managers and clinical coordinators as a means to communicate with the surgical specialty practices, set expectations and standards, fosters their development, and holds them accountable.
- Works with the administrative team, promotes integration of the provider surgical specialty practices into Arnot Health.
- Oversees all aspects of the adoption and effective utilization of information technology.
- Assists in developing and implementing short-range strategies, business plans and site development.
- Drives operational efficiency, emphasizing high-quality patient care, revenue enhancement and cost optimization.
- Develops and implements Outpatient Services policies and procedures and promotes standardization of group.
- With the senior executive director, continually monitors operations, programs, and physical properties, and initiates appropriate changes.
- Helps promote Outpatient Services culture, integration and high morale, and promulgates group standardization.
- Assists in the promotion of high standards of professional conduct.
- Conducts performance reviews of clerical staff.
- Facilitates all aspects of patient access and overall experience.
- Facilitates optimal documentation and record keeping, including electronic means, and ensures the integrity thereof.
- Is responsible for attending all mandatory annual educational programs as required by the position.
- Is familiar with and demonstrates continuous Performance Improvement principles and participates in the process as appropriate.
- Employee understands and demonstrates the importance of satisfying the needs of the customer/patient by interacting with him/her in a friendly and caring way, being attentive to the customer's needs, both psychologically and physically, and by taking the initiative to maintain communication with the customer in order to provide a secure and pleasant experience with the Arnot Health.

EDUCATION:
Bachelors degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 5 years in supervisory capacity, in appropriate healthcare setting.
CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR) REQUIREMENTS:
No CPR Requirement.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Light physical efforts. Typical office job. Work in comfortable positions.
EXPOSURE CATEGORY:
Category III. Tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. And Category I tasks are not a condition of employment.
