    Job Summary

    Full Time, days. Employee will provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors and staff with an emphasis on quality service and safe care. Employee must be self-motivated and demonstrate ability to work as a team. Employee will be responsible for routine Nuclear Medicine and PET imaging. Prepare, administer and measure radioactive isotopes in diagnostic, some therapeutic, and tracer studies utilizing a variety of radioisotope equipment. Administers radiopharmaceuticals or radiation to patient to detect or treat diseases, using radioisotope equipment, under the direction of Radiologist.

    Job Functions

    • Calculate, measure, prepare, and document radiation doses and radiopharmaceuticals using computerized systems in accordance with physician orders and imaging protocols*.
    • Perform nuclear medicine and PET imaging procedures competently, including the safe administration of radioisotopes*.
    • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot radioisotope and laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance*.
    • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while prioritizing patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality*.
    • Perform daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual quality control (QC) procedures on Nuclear Medicine and PET scanners, dose calibrators, and other departmental equipment*.
    • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, radiation safety standards, and departmental quality assurance (QA) policies. Maintain accurate QA documentation and records*.
    • Maintain and calibrate imaging and laboratory equipment to meet regulatory and manufacturer standards*.
    • Demonstrate flexibility by assuming additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support departmental operations*.
    • Assist in the orientation, training, and education of new staff members, technologists, and students.
    • Maintain all required professional credentials, certifications, and continuing education (CE) credits necessary for the position*.
    • Travel with the mobile PET unit to multiple Centralus Health locations to provide imaging services as required*.

    Education / Experience Qualifications

    Required:

    Education

    Required completion of one of the following:

    • 2-year accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
    • 4-year accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
    • Accredited certificate program

    Certifications

    • Current NMTCBor ARRT (Nuclear Medicine) certification required
    • CT certification through NMTCBor ARRT, or ARRT certification in Radiography (DX) with CT credentials

    Licensure

    • Current New York State Department of Health license in Nuclear Medicine Technology required, or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to employment.
    • New York State licensure in Nuclear Medicine (NM), Diagnostic Radiography (DX), or Computed Tomography (CT), as applicable.

    Preferred:

    • Previous Nuclear Medicine and/or PET experience is preferred; however, new graduates from accredited programs are encouraged to apply

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
    • Ability to push, pull, bend, reach, and lift as required to perform job duties safely.
    • Ability to safely transfer, position, and assist patients with varying levels of mobility.
    • Ability to travel with the mobile PET unit to multiple Centralus Health locations as needed.
