Housekeeper/Porter

Location: Hazlet, NJ
Schedule: Full-Time | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Salary: $19.00 per hour

Arnold Walter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dependable and hardworking Housekeeper/Porter to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.

• Perform daily housekeeping duties, including cleaning and polishing furniture, fixtures, and heating/cooling units.

• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, recreational areas, and common areas.

• Sweep, mop, wax, and disinfect floors while following proper safety procedures and using caution signs.

• Vacuum, shampoo, and disinfect carpets as needed.

• Clean walls, ceilings, mirrors, and other assigned areas.

• Remove and dispose of waste properly while maintaining infection control standards.

• Follow fire safety, hand hygiene, chemical handling, and waste disposal procedures.

• Properly mix and use cleaning chemicals according to established guidelines and SDS requirements.

• Report accidents, unsafe conditions, equipment problems, or maintenance concerns to the supervisor.

• Keep utility closets and janitorial areas clean, organized, and properly stocked.

• Communicate resident concerns, supply needs, and other issues to the appropriate supervisor.

• Ability to follow detailed instructions and established cleaning procedures.

• Strong attention to cleanliness, safety, and organization.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Good communication skills and willingness to accept constructive feedback.

• Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and housekeeping equipment.

• Previous housekeeping experience in a healthcare or skilled nursing setting is a plus.
