Regional Business Development & Marketing Manager Marketing Arnold & Porter is an international law firm with 16 offices in the United States, Europe, and Asia that provides sophisticated regulatory, litigation, and transactional services across multiple industries. The Marketing Department of Arnold & Porter has an opening for a Regional Business Development & Marketing Manager in the Seattle office. The Manager supports a wide range of business development and marketing activities for the Seattle market. This position works with lawyers, business development managers, and other firm staff to identify and implement a range of profile-raising and business-growth activities in Seattle, such as sponsorships, memberships, conferences, events, directory and award submissions, among others. The position will also manage the creation and implementation of business development strategies and activities for a designated practice group. This position reports to the Director of Business Development. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborates with Seattle Office Head and Regional Senior BD Manager to develop marketing and business development strategies to promote the firm in the Seattle market and drive business growth. Collaborates with Business Development Managers across all practice/industry groups to identify cross-selling opportunities. Manages the marketing and business development activities for the region and assigned practice including: Maintain marketing collateral, including brochures, one-pagers, PowerPoint decks, attorney bios, experience lists, among others Coordinate webinars and client events with the Events Team, including on-ground support. Identify and support profile-raising opportunities, including sponsorships, memberships, in-house presentations, conferences and professional speaking opportunities Develops compelling pitches, proposals, and RFP responses tailored to the client opportunity. Identifies regional media opportunities for the Media Relations team and coordinates award submissions for local lawyers. Drives strategy and coordinates regional submissions to Chambers, The Legal 500, among others. Facilitates the integration of regional lateral partners and counsel. Develops and manages office business development budget, and evaluates and tracks ROI on BD initiatives. Leverages CRM and Experience databases to identify and confirm relationship targets, and relevant experience for business development opportunities. Serves to support the team as needed, including covering other practice groups during manager leaves. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree a plus. Specific experience with and knowledge of Seattle market is desired. Minimum of five years of marketing and business development experience. Knowledge of business development processes and proposal process preferred. Ability to work well under pressure essential. Excellent writing and editing skills. Exceptional Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Proficiency in CRM and other experience database systems is a plus. Ability to work confidently and effectively with partners and senior administration of the firm. Excellent project management skills, with keen attention to detail and an ability to prioritize and execute multiple ongoing tasks often under tight deadlines. An ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume, deadline driven environment. “Team player” mentality with great collegiality responding well to an evolving environment and is willing to be flexible and lend support where needed. The anticipated base salary for this position is $124,800 to $182,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
