We are seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources Data Analyst to support critical compensation, pay-equity, and compliance initiatives for professional staff. This role will partner closely with the Chief Human Resources Officer, HR colleagues, and firm leaders to analyze salary structures, support competitive market positioning, and help ensure compliance with evolving pay-transparency requirements. The Analyst will work in our Washington, DC office in a hybrid schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze professional staff compensation to support the firm’s strategy, mission, competitive market position, and legal compliance.
  • Conduct compensation analyses and market pricing for roles, considering market trends, internal equity, engagement, and retention.
  • Partner with the CHRO, HR team members, and Chiefs/Directors to provide compensation guidance for recruiting, offers, and pay-equity decisions.
  • Maintain and evaluate compensation programs, processes, tools, and systems in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Support pay-transparency compliance across applicable jurisdictions.
  • Assist with affirmative action planning as it relates to pay equity and compensation structure.
  • Research compensation best practices, salary-survey data, economic conditions, and law-firm market trends; recommend program enhancements as appropriate.
  • Handle the completion of law-firm industry salary surveys.
  • Develop compensation communications and resources that help leaders and managers understand compensation programs.
  • Help develop, implement, and maintain compensation processes, tools, and systems.
  • Analyze and update compensation-related policies and procedures, including wage-and-hour and competitive-pay practices.
  • Assist with reviewing and updating professional staff job descriptions in partnership with HR leadership.
  • Analyze FLSA classifications, EEO codes, job codes, and exemption status; recommend resolutions and compensation adjustments when appropriate.
  • Perform related administrative responsibilities and special projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; business-related field preferred.
  • At least three years of data analytics experience supporting a large, multi-location employer; professional services experience is preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including macros and pivot tables; experience with Smartsheet is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms, such as UKG/UltiPro or similar systems, is a plus.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manipulate, summarize, and interpret data accurately while maintaining data integrity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism in handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong organizational, project-management, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strategic mindset, strong attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound decision-making, and follow through to achieve results.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $82,400 to $110,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

The firm may provide a discretionary bonus annually.

Salary : $82,400 - $110,000
