Weld Shop Lead - 1st Shift

Job Description:

• Leads by example, training all team members in every facet of the shop
• Enforces safety, quality, and productivity standards
• Reviews and approves welding procedures
• Verifies welder and welding procedure qualifications
• Checks welding specifications for jobs
• Ensures the correct equipment and materials are being used for a weld
• Reads and interprets blueprints.
• Welds and fabricates per blueprints
• Inspects completed welds and fabrication
• Creates jigs and fixtures for jobs as required
• Monitors work order documentation requirements
• Maintains equipment and requests maintenance support as required
• Must be physically capable of completing all duties as required, to include other responsibilities as required

Qualifications:

• Previous MIG welding experience required
• Advanced knowledge of TIG, MIG, laser, butt, and arc welding techniques
• Must pass a weld test and AWS/CWB certifications
• Knowledgeable with measuring and weld inspection instruments
• Leadership experience preferred
