What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Receiving Clerk position at Arning Companies?
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for the accurate receiving, staging, and storage of purchased parts and material. Ensures bills of lading (BOL) are accurate and material condition is acceptable and/ or documented on the BOL. Maintains integrity in both the ERP system and the physical inventory through timely and accurate transactional/ physical processing.
Specific expectations of a Shipping and Receiving Clerk may include but not limited to:
Job Description:
- Accurately receive in, store, and deliver materials in a timely manner.
- Inspect materials upon receipt, label/ barcode materials accurately.
- Compare purchase orders with packing lists for accuracy.
- Communicate receiving issues with the purchasing department.
- Conducts inventory and cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, powered industrial vehicles, hoists, and digital scales.
- Demonstrate basic computer skills, keyboarding skills, and data entry.
- Ability to learn the ERP system, and other systems as required.
- Ability to multi-task and complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Record keeping / must be well organized.
- Customer service minded, team and detail oriented, and driven to continually improve.
- Adheres to all safety and quality policies and practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Ability to perform repetitive lifting.
Stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
Continuous use of arms and hands.
Lift up to 50 pounds.
Work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Powered industrial vehicle experience preferred (forklift, powered pallet jack, etc....)
Previous warehouse experience preferred.
