This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Responsibilities:
- Perform a broad range of law enforcement, investigation, crime prevention, traffic control, and community policing.
- Respond to and investigate offences against persons and property.
- Respond to volatile situations.
- Question and apprehend suspects utilizing the appropriate level of authorized force.
- Investigate traffic accidents and interview subjects with knowledge of the accident or incident.
- Conduct traffic and security patrols to enforce federal, state, Department of Defense, Department of the Army and local regulations.
- Perform operational and administrative duties.
- Write incident and activity reports.
- Direct, escort, and protect VIPs and visitors.
- Provide installation access control.

Qualifications
You are eligible if you meet one of the following qualifications:
GS-06 Specialized Experience:
- One year of specialized experience which includes work utilizing basic laws and regulations to maintain order and protect life and property;
- conducting vehicle or foot patrols;
- controlling access to restricted areas by verifying credentials;
- responding to calls for assistance;
- or conducting personal or vehicle searches.
GS-07 Specialized Experience:
- One year of specialized experience which includes work utilizing laws and regulations to maintain order and protect life and property;
- responding to calls for police assistance and emergency situations;
- arresting and mirandizing suspects;
- conducting investigations of crimes and suspected criminal activities;
- conducting vehicle or foot patrols;
- writing reports;
- or conducting personal or vehicle searches.
Additional Information:
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
A one year trial/probationary period may be required.
Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.

Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
This position may offer a recruitment bonus to individuals who are newly appointed as civilians in the Federal Government.
You are considered newly appointed if this is your first appointment as a civilian employee in the Federal Government or if you have a minimum of a 90-day break in service from a previous Federal civilian position.
You may qualify with a break in service of less than 90 days only if your previous Federal civilian appointment was a time-limited or non-permanent appointment.
You will be required to sign a service agreement prior to your entry on duty.
This position may offer a relocation incentive to applicants if they are a current Federal government employee who is relocating from more than 50 miles from the duty location.

Salary negotiations for candidates new to Federal service may be authorized.

Management may select at any of the grade levels announced.
If selected for a developmental grade level, this recruitment provides promotion opportunity to the target grade of the position without further competition (non-competitive promotion potential).
