Armstrong Utilities is seeking candidates for a Financial Accountant position in Butler, PA. The Accountant will play a key role in the accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting for Armstrong Utilities and Armstrong Telecommunications. The selected individual will be a highly motivated, results-oriented professional who is an innovative thinker. The applicant must have strong analytical, problem resolution, and collaboration skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and communicate effectively.
- Prepares journal entries in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
- Prepares accounting records and reviews transactions for accuracy, adequacy of supporting documentation, and compliance with company policy
- Reviews weekly Accounts Payable batches to ensure proper account coding and adherence to company policy
- Monitors, analyzes, and reconciles general ledger accounts
- Actively supports the annual budgeting process and financial audit
- Proactively identifies areas for potential improvement in the Finance & Accounting Department
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- One to five years of progressive accounting experience
- Analytical skills and an innovative approach to problem solving
- Ability to adapt to changing demands and needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong technical skills and ability to learn new applications and reporting tools
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment
