Summary

, you will be responsible for leading and executing new projects relating to manufacturing equipment and processes.

In this role, you will be expected to work closely with Manufacturing, Innovation, New Product Development, plant and operations staff, in addition to outside suppliers to ensure the successful completion of your projects.

Up to 50% travel may be required, depending on the scope and phases of ongoing projects.

What you'll be doing

  • Managing projects, timelines, budgets, and report-outs
  • Specifying equipment, working with vendors, designing, procuring, and installing assets to build new production lines within existing facilities or new facilities
  • Participating as a member of multifunctional project teams who execute a variety of capital projects from concept to asset installation and start-up
  • Investigating problems with process and equipment and recommending corrective actions
  • Ensuring that R&D projects are compliant with company and regulatory standards
  • Demonstrating safety leadership by incorporating our safety tools (risk assessments, elimination, coaching) into daily work with the goal of fostering an injury-free culture
  • Achieving high standards of 5S to minimize risks and maximize performance.
  • Researching and integrating new technology into our manufacturing plants while leveraging existing processes and equipment
  • Participating, mentoring, and developing engineers and maintenance personnel on technical and engineering best practices and precision maintenance
  • Investigating opportunities within the plants to incorporate new and innovative automation or process improvement ideas and solutions
  • Participating in Lean events to drive rapid process improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent amount of relevant engineering experience in lieu of a degree
  • 5 years of expertise leading capital construction projects
  • A reputation for communicating and integrating effectively across functions
  • Experience with Precision and Preventative maintenance, ITPS, and FATS
  • Hands-on installation and construction skills
  • Strong presentation skills

  • Direct experience with project planning and execution in a manufacturing environment
  • Engineer in Training (ElT) and/or Professional Engineer (PE) certification
  • Lean Practitioner certification or experience utilizing Lean tools
