The Accountant will play a key role in the accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting for Armstrong Utilities and Armstrong Telecommunications. The selected individual will be a highly motivated, results-oriented professional who is an innovative thinker. The applicant must have strong analytical, problem resolution, and collaboration skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and communicate effectively. Prepares journal entries in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles Prepares accounting records and reviews transactions for accuracy, adequacy of supporting documentation, and compliance with company policy Reviews weekly Accounts Payable batches to ensure proper account coding and adherence to company policy Monitors, analyzes, and reconciles general ledger accounts Actively supports the annual budgeting process and financial audit Proactively identifies areas for potential improvement in the Finance & Accounting Department Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned What You’ll Need Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting One to five years of progressive accounting experience Analytical skills and an innovative approach to problem solving Ability to adapt to changing demands and needs Strong communication and interpersonal skills Strong technical skills and ability to learn new applications and reporting tools Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment At Armstrong, we offer more than a job!
