Armstrong Teasdale is seeking a Payroll Manager to join its team. The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing and supervising the firm’s payroll functions and ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.

  • Manages members of the payroll team by delegating tasks, monitoring task completion, and managing team performance
  • Maintains and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage and hour laws and best practices
  • Prepares and uploads payroll journal entries, vendor file updates and state reports
  • Performs general ledger account reconciliation and applicable changes to payroll
  • Reconciles quarterly and annual tax reports including W-2s
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and provides reports of payroll transactions to firm management

Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources or related field

Required Licenses and/or Certifications: N/A

Required Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of related experience in multi-state payroll
  • Proficient with payroll software

Preferred Experience: Prior law firm experience

Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes

Physical Activity: The employee will be required to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer

Travel Required: N/A

Colorado and New York Salary Range: $84,00 - $121,250
