What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator position at Armstrong Steel?
Shift:
Friday - Sunday
5:00am - 5:30pm
Summary:
Read blueprints to put together the framed parts, webs and flanges, into the Kentex machine so the main frame can be manufactured.
Essential Functions:
- Read blueprints.
- Use flange sheer to cut flange material to the correct length.
- Operator utilizes the mig welding machine to weld the flange splices together.
- Use Kentex machine to weld together the webs and flanges for each frame.
- Assembles the frame in Kentex machine and weld tacks the frame together for the welding process.
- Uses crane to load and unload Kentex machine.
- Operator keeps track of all raw material used on a project number and uses scan gun to maintain allocate material to the correct job for inventory control and material traceability.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Must possess 1 - 2 years of basic experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Must possess an understanding of shop math, blue print reading, welding symbols, beam assembly, general welding knowledge and general shop practice. Must have excellent attention to detail and should be focused and accurately understand quality assurance requirements.

Manufacturing environment. Noise volume varies from loud to normal.
