The firm has built and developed hundreds of homes across Davidson and Williamson Counties and is known for high-quality execution and thoughtful design.
Armstrong Real Estate is a boutique real estate brokerage and development firm with more than 20 years of experience in Nashville real estate. Armstrong Real Estate routinely partners with Paragon Group on ground-up residential new construction projects.
The principals of Paragon Group and Armstrong Real Estate are combining their experience, resources, and track records to launch a new division focused exclusively on luxury custom home construction. With a strong pipeline of projects currently in design and permitting—and additional homes on the horizon—this new division is launching imminently.
We are seeking an experienced construction leader to play a foundational role in building and leading this luxury construction company.
Position Overview
The VP of Construction / Senior Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of high-end custom residential construction projects ranging from approximately $3M–$10M . This is a leadership role for an experienced professional who thrives in luxury residential construction, understands the level of detail and coordination required, and is excited to help shape processes, teams, and standards from the ground up.
In the initial phase, this role will be hands-on and deeply involved in preconstruction, estimating, budgeting, and project execution. As the division grows, the position offers significant opportunity for leadership expansion, team building, and long-term advancement.
Key Responsibilities
Preconstruction & Planning
- Assist in estimating projects and developing detailed construction budgets
- Review architectural, structural, and interior design plans for constructability, cost alignment, and quality standards
- Collaborate with ownership, architects, designers, and consultants during design development
- Identify value-engineering opportunities without compromising design intent or quality
- Assist in scheduling and sequencing projects from preconstruction through completion
Project Management & Execution
- Oversee all phases of construction for luxury custom homes from ground-up through final closeout
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and cash flow
- Lead jobsite coordination meetings and maintain clear communication with all stakeholders
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
- Maintain strict quality control and attention to detail expected in high-end residential construction
Subcontractor & Vendor Management
- Assist in procuring, vetting, and managing specialty subcontractors and vendors
- Negotiate contracts and scopes of work
- Ensure subcontractor compliance with schedules, specifications, and safety standards
- Foster long-term relationships with high-quality trade partners
Leadership & Client Experience
- Serve as a primary point of contact for ownership and, when appropriate, clients
- Uphold a white-glove client experience consistent with luxury custom home expectations
- Help establish construction standards, systems, and best practices for the new division
- Mentor junior staff or future hires as the construction team grows
Risk Management & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and local jurisdiction requirements
- Manage inspections, punch lists, and project closeout documentation
- Proactively identify and mitigate construction risks
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing luxury residential construction projects
- Direct experience leading construction or project management of multiple custom homes with project values ranging from $3M–$10M
- Strong understanding of high-end architectural details, custom finishes, and complex construction assemblies
- Proven experience with budgeting, estimating, scheduling, and cost control
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and interior design drawings
- Established relationships with high-quality subcontractors and suppliers preferred
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Proficiency with construction management software and standard office tools
- Professional, client-facing demeanor with strong attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-growing environment
