Overview
Armstrong Properties is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Assistant to the Director of Finance to support the accounting and financial operations of our locally owned businesses and related entities. This is a part-time, in-office position in Caldwell, Texas, working directly with the Director of Finance, with an expected schedule of approximately 20–25 hours per week. The ideal candidate has hands-on bookkeeping experience, is highly organized, and is comfortable working across multiple companies and sets of books. Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online is required.
Responsibilities
- Support the Director of Finance with day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions across multiple entities
- Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online
- Enter, review, and properly categorize transactions
- Manage accounts payable and assist with accounts receivable
- Process and track invoices, bills, and payments
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Assist with intercompany transactions and proper allocation of expenses between entities
- Assist with monthly account reconciliations and financial close
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation
- Assist with expense tracking and reporting
- Help prepare financial reports and supporting schedules
- Communicate with vendors and internal team members regarding accounting matters
- Identify discrepancies and help ensure financial information is complete and accurate
- Assist the Director of Finance with special projects and administrative tasks as needed
Skills
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is required
- Previous bookkeeping, accounting, or financial administrative experience
- Experience working with multiple companies or sets of books is a plus
- Strong understanding of basic accounting and bookkeeping principles
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and financial data
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities across multiple entities
- Ability to work independently and follow established processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of discretion when handling confidential financial and business information
