The Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordinating all daily activities within the shipping department. This includes preparing finished goods for shipment, managing inventory movement throughout the facility, packaging, labeling, and maintaining accurate records for all incoming and outgoing products. The role also involves selecting appropriate shipping methods, materials, and documentation practices for both domestic and international shipments. The Shipping Clerk plays a key role in supporting sales and customer service through timely and organized shipment handling. Key Responsibilities

- Prepare finished products for shipment by tagging, coding, skidding, boxing, or crating as needed
- Move materials or products throughout the facility as required
- Accurately maintain records for all incoming and outgoing shipments
- Transfer shipping and receiving documentation to appropriate internal departments
- Accumulate and fulfill customer orders by delivery schedule
- Determine and coordinate the most efficient and cost-effective shipping methods
- Select appropriate packing materials and skids/containers for international shipments
- Take and archive photographs of valves or parts for shipment documentation
- Communicate with Sales regarding shipping timelines, part availability, or discrepancies
- Report inventory discrepancies, damaged goods, or stock shortages
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the shipping area
- Assist with light woodworking for crating or packaging custom orders
- Ensure compliance with freight handling and trucking procedures

- High school diploma
- Basic shop training
- Working with packaging equipment, general shop hand tools
- Forklift experience preferred
