The Landscape Designer position maintains a key role within the landscape division, serving as the liaison between the customer and Armstrong Garden Centers.This position requires a dynamic and motivated self-starter who is capable of working both alone and with a team. This position requires the ability to complete multiple projects while maintaining the general requirements of the position in a time-sensitive environment.Candidates must possess at least 3-5 years of landscape design/landscape sales experience and substantial knowledge and experience with plants used in California landscapes. Knowledge of plant characteristics, growth habit, proper growing conditions and care.Focus on Customer Service first and foremostSales and Salesmanship with the closing of the sale paramountPrimary Duties and Responsibilities:Partner and coordinate with Landscape Design Sales team to prepare scaled hand drawingsA natural eye for design, perspective, proportion, color and scaleExceptional time management skills, highly organized and ability to complete projects within timelines givenDriven and goal orientated and takes pride in completion of great workFlexible, open-minded and the ability to take constructive feedbackAbility to complete 3-5 designs weeklyAccurate assessment of scope of customer projectCreating innovated design recommendations including applicable plant material recommendationsForward thinking design capability incorporating hard good and other Armstrong product offeringsProduct coordination from design, fulfillment and installationTimely and exceptional customer follow-upCustomer service and sales responsibilities at retail location during the busy season and for training purposesCore CompetenciesExceptional customer service and communications skillsOutstanding organizational and time management skillsCompensation– We have great benefits! Unassisted lifting limits between 30 and 50 lbs. Individuals may be required to do any or all of these situations throughout the work day, with an emphasis on walking and standing for a major portion of the day.
