The Armstrong Company is hiring a Project Supervisor to lead on-site installation teams delivering commercial office furniture projects across Houston. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can run a clean jobsite, drive schedule, protect quality, and communicate professionally with clients, building management, and internal operations. What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)

- Own site execution: verify site readiness, coordinate access, manage daily plan-of-day, and keep production on schedule.
- Read and interpret plans (floor plans, installation drawings, typicals) and translate them into clear crew assignments.
- Coordinate deliveries, staging, and inventory: confirm counts, identify shortages/damages, and maintain accurate on-site material tracking.
- Quality control: ensure correct layout, level/square/secure installs, clean finishes, and complete punch-list closeout.
- Client-facing communication: provide updates, manage expectations, escalate issues early, and maintain a professional presence onsite.
- Troubleshoot in the field: resolve layout conflicts, missing parts, product variances, and last-minute changes without losing momentum.
- Safety leadership: enforce PPE, safe lifting practices, tool safety, and jobsite housekeeping; comply with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Documentation: capture daily progress, photos as needed, incident/near-miss reporting, change conditions, and completion sign-offs.
- Coordinate with other trades when required (IT, electrical, flooring, building engineers) to keep installs flowing.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support successful project delivery.
What We’re Looking For (Minimum Qualifications)

- Strong working knowledge of hand/power tools, hardware, and field assembly practices.
- Ability to read layouts and execute to plan with high attention to detail.
- Proven ability to supervise crews, set pace, and maintain accountability and professionalism.
- Strong customer service skills and confidence communicating with project stakeholders.
- Reliable transportation; ability to travel to job sites around the Houston area.
- Ability to pass any required background screening and site access requirements as applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with major office furniture systems (workstations/panel systems/modular).
- Experience with punch-list management, basic reporting, and field documentation.
- Forklift/scissor lift certification (or willingness to obtain), where required by site.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Regular lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, and team-lifting of heavy items (often up to and including 75 lbs ).
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, and working in active construction/occupied office environments.
- Comfortable working varied hours based on project schedules (early starts, occasional overtime/weekends as needed).
- Ability to work safely around loading docks, freight elevators, and jobsite traffic.
What Success Looks Like
- Projects installed right the first time: accurate layout, tight finishes, minimal rework.
- Crews stay productive, safe, and coordinated.
- Clients experience a smooth, professional installation with clear communication and clean closeout.
