Job Description
The registered nurse in the Medical Surgical - Neuro specialty will provide care primarily for neuroscience patients, including those with strokes, seizure disorders, traumatic brain injury, and other related conditions. The role requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and adherence to specific patient care protocols and standards.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and manage IV and blood products.
- Monitor neurological and psychiatric symptoms with an emphasis on patient safety.
- Provide care for patients with central line management and perform phlebotomy as needed.
- Assess and interpret cardiac rhythms, utilizing rapid response protocols when applicable.
- Maintain a patient-centric approach while adhering to isolation precautions and team protocols.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning sessions.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year of direct Medical Surgical experience.
- Completion of at least 2 successful travel contracts.
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred.
- Experience with Epic charting system is required.
- Must be able to float to other MS/Tele areas as needed.
