Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) ensures the delivery of high-quality care by adhering to the nursing care plan and supervising Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants. The RN is dedicated to patient and employee safety and promotes a culture of safety within the work environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission.
- Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis.
- Provide timely patient information for team conferences and ensure accurate documentation.
- Participate in the rehabilitation program, focusing on direct patient care.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
- Communicate changes in patient status to appropriate care providers.
- Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel; delegate tasks appropriately.
- Maintain personal and environmental safety in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Actively engage in team-building activities to foster a positive work environment.
- Assume charge responsibilities as needed following orientation.
- Pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study.
- BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
- ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
- Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience preferred.
